The Farmer and a Cow
One farmer had a cow. He was very kind and caring toward his cows. The farmer gave the oxen clean water, good food, and kept the cow healthy.
Even the cow was treated with respect and honor by the farmer because of his great love and care. The cow gave the farmer a lot of milk every day. The farmer sold the milk in the market daily to buy household necessities.
Great devotion and obedience were evident between the farmer and the cow. Such good relations continued for many years.
One day, the farmer came home after seeing a lot of grass growing in the field near his house. He went to another village for an important errand.
Seeing the new pastures, the cow was very happy and satisfied. The cow silently thanked the farmer very much.
The cow had eaten the grass with a hearty appetite. The cow slept there for a while, feeling tired in the afternoon. Just then, a cobra came quietly and began to bite the cow's ankle. The cow cried a lot, but no one came to her rescue. In a short time, the cow was dead.
When the farmer came to take the cow for milking, he found the cow dead. He was very sad and cried as he looked up at the sky.
